Maybe you would like to become a qualified referee or
develop your skills as a technical official? Referees and technical officials
are vital to the successful running of weightlifting events. Each competition
requires officials to record athletes weigh-in, act as competition director,
chief marshal, timekeeper, speaker, technical controllers, referees, and a range
of additional supporting officials and volunteers.
The Australian Weightlifting Federation runs a number of
courses throughout the year which are suitable for those new to the sport or
for people who are experienced and want to increase their knowledge and improve
their skills as a technical official. More information is available on the
AWF website.
WACT are always looking for volunteers. Without the
commitment, effort and contributions of all our volunteers WACT wouldn’t be
able to conduct the weightlifting events that we hold each year. Whatever your
background or interests, there are a range of activities and opportunities for
you to get involved with WACT. Please
contact us to register your
interest.
